Head Gardeners

The Head Gardeners, in Year 5 and 6, have been busy this season; Gardening on the Grimsthorpe Estate with Jim Handley, and, have become Chelsea Silver Gilt Medal Winners (with a little help from Peter Seabrook and Anthony!).
The Chelsea garden was The Sun Flower Square, the garden industry collaborative exhibit in the Great Pavilion at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. It was visited by members of the Royal family and celebrities (and our very own Head Gardener, Charlie, and his mum).

 Charlie's mum wrote

"Wanted to let you know that Charlie and I were at Chelsea Flower show during 1/2 term and we sought out the garden with the Edenham plants.  We introduced ourselves and told them Charlie was a school gardener and we had travelled from Lincolnshire and they greeted us with huge delight!  Apparently not many schools participated in the end so they knew exactly who we were and the school sign was prominently displayed on the garden.  They said there had been a fantastic reaction from the general public to the fact that school children had been involved in the project - and they generally made a big fuss of Charlie - to his mortification you can imagine!

We got to go on the garden and I took some photos of the Edenham sign (the only school to have one!) and the medal.  Also made a video but Charlie won’t let me send that!!

Anyway, thought you might like to see follow up to what it was all about and also hear that the school’s active participation was much appreciated by the organisors.
