Who's Who in our School-Church Life

Anthony Andrews - our rather awesome Bishops Visitor, who is also a former grandparent and runs our Gardening Club.

What do Bishop's Visitors do?

 What is a Bishop’s Visitor?

A friend to the school and a listening ear

  • A link between the Bishop of Lincoln, the Diocesan Education Team and the school
  • A Christian presence supporting and enhancing the distinctive nature of the
    school through:
    • Sharing the Bishop’s letter each term with the whole school community
    • Attending and supporting worship in school or church
    • Offering individual skills and talents to enrich the life of the school

Anthony also supports our Foundation governance and participates regualrly in evaluting Collective Worship, or the provision for pupils in our school.

A letter from the Bishop to those moving to senior school

 Remembrance Service 10th November 2017

The BISHOP of GRANTHAM,  The Rt Rev Nicholas Chamberlain, visited our school on Monday 7th November.

He spoke about Andy Murray’s amazing achievement – becoming #1 in the world of Tennis through sheer practise and perseverance - and the Parable of the Fishermen in John 21:6.

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Bishop Nicholas is a Suffragan Bishop which means he assists the Bishop of Lincoln by looking after a large area of Parishes around Grantham, including Edenham, Toft and Lound.

Bishops in the Church of England are ordained to ‘be shepherds of Christ’s flock and guardians of the faith of the apostles.’

Bishops are appointed by the Queen.

They can ordain people to become priests and confirm people who wish to undertake that.

Bishop Nicholas led Collective Worship about two of our

EDENHAM LEARNING POWERS – PRACTISE and PERSEVERANCE.
